All fees and questions
How much does a session cost?

Fees differ between counsellors. Each counsellor’s fees for individual, couples and family sessions are on their profile and on our Fees and FAQs page . Regular sessions are 60 minutes; your first session is usually 90 minutes, so its fee is 50% higher than the hourly rate.

Halaxy shows the exact fee, and your counsellor’s payment and cancellation terms, before you confirm.

Are Medicare rebates available?

Medicare rebates are not available for couples counselling under a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan. For individual sessions, rebates may be available when you see an eligible psychologist, accredited mental health social worker or appropriately qualified occupational therapist, but they are not available for counselling services provided by counsellors.

We aim to keep our counselling fees accessible and competitive with the out-of-pocket costs of psychological services.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes, with certain limits. Counsellors have a responsibility to act when someone’s safety is at risk or when disclosure is required by law. Outside these circumstances and other applicable legal exceptions, information is only shared with your written consent.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Each counsellor’s payment and cancellation terms are shown on Halaxy before you confirm.
